What is ECTN ?

ECTN stands for Electronic Cargo Tracking Note. It's a system used in several African countries to monitor and track cargo shipped to their ports. The purpose is to enhance security, prevent smuggling, and ensure compliance with customs regulations.

When goods are shipped to countries requiring ECTN, the shipper or their agent must obtain an ECTN certificate before the cargo is loaded onto the vessel.

This certificate contains details about the cargo and its journey, and it's submitted electronically to the authorities of the destination country.
